Ev is passionate about making the rich wisdom of Judaism accessible to all learners.

Learning should be fun

Not every person learns the same way. Ev works with each learner to uncover the best strategies to make learning fun, engaging, and successful. While using multi-modal pedagogy, Ev creates learning strategies tailored to each learner. They especially love working with learners who come from interfaith families, are LGBTQ+, or have specific learning needs. Ev is committed to creating a positive learning environment where each learner feels supported and celebrated.

Ev charges a sliding scale of $75-$125 an hour, and is available during the day or most evenings. They are available to teach via Zoom or in-person at community locations in the Denver metro. Schedule your 15-minute tutoring info call here.

  • Hebrew Tutoring

The Hebrew language can be daunting. And yet even a basic knowledge of Hebrew opens up so much in the Jewish religion. Ev takes Hebrew learning at each learner’s own pace, offering praise and affirmation throughout each lesson.

Ev uses The First Hebrew Primer to teach the basics of reading the language. Once a learner can sound out words, we move to text-based learning, using Hebrew to understand more about prayer, Torah, or Jewish culture.

  • B'nei Mitzvah Tutoring

The journey of becoming a bar/bat/b’nei mitzvah as so much more than leading prayer and chanting Torah. Our ancient tradition of becoming a “child of the commandments” is the first step a young person makes towards being responsible for the way they show up in the world.

As a cantorial and rabbinic student, Ev teaches all aspects of what a young person needs to be successful on the Bima: singing and speaking skills, Torah and haftorah trope, prayers, and lastly, what Judaism can teach us about how to be a good person.

  • Adult Learning

Ev’s educator career began in adult education over ten years ago. Most important to Ev is that learning as adults is still fun.

Whether an adult learner wants to have their own B’nei Mitzvah, wants to explore their heritage more, or just wants to nerd out about Judaism, Ev is ready to help you meet your learning goals.

  • Guitar Lessons

Ev has been playing guitar since they were 14-years old. Sharing their love of the instrument with others is a joy. Ev teaches with tabs and chords, starting learners with foundational playing. Throughout all learning, Ev includes musicality and teaching how to make music that speaks and says something. Ev specializes in Jewish music, but is available to teach in a variety of genres.

  • What a gift to have Ev tutoring my son. Rafi is excited to learn and loves the experience, every single time. We are so grateful for Ev's enthusiasm, knowledge and devotion to sharing these teachings with so much love, joy and care. Ev makes learning fun, sacred and meaningful.

  • I highly recommend Ev for B’nai Mitzvot tutoring. My son goes to a secular grade school, and he was behind in learning Hebrew. He started learning in the 5th grade, but it was clear he needed help catching up to his peers. Ev tutored our son in basic Hebrew reading. Their patient, gentle, and supportive approach towards teaching made all the difference. Because of Ev’s approach, our son blossomed into a student who was confident in his ability to read Hebrew and eager to begin his Bar Mitzvah studies. Thank you, Ev, for making a difference in fostering my son’s love of Jewish learning.
